About Meeting


In accordance with an agreement between Sharif Policy Research Institute (SPRI) and Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, series of meetings are being held in the presence of representatives and informants of industrial situation in Iran at the Sharif Business Think Tank to pave the ground for suggesting proposals on amendment of basic laws concerning pricing trend in the country, including amendment of protection of consumers' rights, the law on trade union and general policies of Article 44.
In the second stage of implementation of the agreement, participants discussed pharmaceutical industry and price control relating to this industry. Dr. Pirsalehi and Dr. Abdollahi from the Syndicate of Iranian Pharmaceutical Industries as well as representatives of Sharif Business Think Tank participated in the first session of the second stage on June 23, 2021.


The most significant topics are as follows:
A short history of procedures and committees of medicine pricing in Iran;
Different methods of medicine pricing in Iran and the world;
The role of government in pricing and supplying medicine in Iran;
Exploration of pitfalls of process of medicine pricing in Iran;
Challenges ahead of domestic and foreign investments in Iran's pharmaceutical industry.
