About Meeting

In accordance with an agreement between Sharif Policy Research Institute (SPRI) and Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, series of meetings are being held in the presence of representatives and informants of economic situation in Iran at the Sharif Business Think Tank to pave the ground for suggesting proposals on amendment of basic laws concerning pricing trend in the country, including amendment of protection of consumers' rights, the law on trade union and general policies of Article 44.
In the ninth stage of implementation of the agreement, participants discussed car manufacturing industry and price control relating to this industry. Secretary of Iran Vehicles Manufacturers Association (IVMA) Ahmad Ne'matbakhsh and representatives of Sharif Business Think Tank participated in the first session of the ninth stage on July 13, 2021.


The most significant topics proposed in the session are as following:
Short history of car pricing in Iran;
The course of developments of pricing in Iran's car manufacturing industry;
Car pricing and the role of the National Competition Council in this regard;
Exploration of pricing pitfalls on car market;
Import and export of cars and government's role in this respect;
Potentials of foreign investments and Iran's investment in abroad;
Proposed strategies to reform pricing in car industry.
